Definition:

The Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination (MATOC) Center coordinates with other major transportation agencies for providing better interjurisdictional transportation management activities in VA/DC/MD region. Member agencies include the District Department of Transportation, the Maryland Department of Transportation, the Virginia Department of Transportation, and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. It provides interjurisdictional incident notification, interagency procedures and protocols, and regional public traveler information.
