Building Dedication and 60th Anniversary

This truly was a wonderful celebration as we reflected back over our past 60 years in business as well as a time to share our goals for Cascade's future in manufacturing earmarked by the opening of a new manufacturing facility.

“I would like to personally thank all of you who joined me and our Cascade Gasket family for the big 60th anniversary celebration and dedication of our new state of the art manufacturing facility on February 17, 2006.”, said F.M. Terry.

This custom Industrial Engineered 12,000 square foot building is designed specifically for cellular manufacturing and based solely on lean manufacturing JIT principles. Included are climate controls and state of the art chilling system. We have the flexibility to reconfigure if necessary with plug-in wiring, quick disconnects, and fabrication tables on rollers.

General manager Mike Moran commented that "this building supports our aggressive Lean goal of continually reducing costs, and lead-times while enhancing customer responsiveness with such popular services as consumption based ordering system."

Industrial gaskets, seals, sponge and foam products will be produced in the new facility, as well as our new 787 Clamp block assemblies. These assemblies were designed and tested by team members comprised of both Cascade Gasket and Boeing Engineers tasked with reducing weight and assembly time for the 787 Dreamliner. The results were a stronger assembly that is 30 % lighter, 20% cheaper and 100% faster to install on the aircraft then the previous configuration.

Due largely in part to the lean-driven upgrades we achieved AS9100/ISO9001 Certification in January 2005.

Boeing nominated Cascade Gasket and Manufacturing Company Incorporated as their "2005 Supplier of the Year".
